Travis Joseph Gearheart, Goose Creek's live sound engineer, is an important part of the Goose Creek Symphony experience. He knows how the Symphony is supposed to sound so he takes the sound equipment and makes sure they sound that way.

His background helped prepare him for this work. Not only has he mixed sound for just about everybody in Nashville, but he's been listening to Goose Creek Symphony music since before he was born.

Travis is also the son of Charlie and Carolyn Gearheart. The stories about a young Travis falling asleep in the bass drum or napping in guitar cases are well-known to everyone in Goose Creek.

Even though Travis is a big fan of heavy metal music, he also loves Goose Creek music.

In addition to making a career out of keeping other folks sounding their best, Travis plays guitar and drums and is a good musician in his own right. He's the drummer for Nelly Wilson, an alt-rock, Americana style band he shares with close friends. He loves to play NW concerts and hang out with friends around Nashville. Travis has been recording and putting togther a live sound system and recording studio. He is the sound engineer for the new Goose Creek Symphony and Nelly Wilson albums, as well as Paul Spradlin's "Pearl Dust."

It will always be interesting to note where Travis' career takes him. All of his family and friends expect his talent will continue to flourish. He's been writing songs and spending lots of time playing music and fishing. It's what he loves, and that, of course, is no big surprise.
